Yes. We treat both children and adults. All household members should be checked to ensure the infestation is fully resolved and to remain eligible for our lice-free guarantee.
To qualify for our lice-free guarantee, all household members who have hair must be checked by a Lice Rescue technician. This includes children and adults living in the home, as well as split-households when applicable.
Household members who are completely bald or have no hair do not require a head check.
Checking everyone helps us:
Identify hidden or symptom-free infestations
Prevent reinfestation after treatment
Ensure the best possible outcome for your family
Our technicians will explain exactly who needs to be checked during your appointment so there’s no confusion or surprises.

In most cases, children can return to school immediately after treatment.
Our process focuses on thorough lice and nit removal so there is no required waiting period. Many schools follow “no-nit” policies differently, so we’re happy to provide guidance or documentation if your school requires it.
If you have questions about your school’s specific policy, feel free to contact us and we’ll help you navigate next steps.
Head lice do not live on furniture, mattresses, or bedding.
Lice survive by staying close to the human scalp, where they feed several times a day. Once off a person’s head, they typically die within 24–48 hours because they cannot survive without a blood source.
While it’s possible for a stray louse to fall onto bedding, pillows, or upholstered furniture, this is not a common way lice spread and does not require extreme cleaning.
What we recommend instead:
Wash recently used pillowcases, hats, and hair accessories in hot water
Avoid sharing personal items like brushes or hats
Focus on thorough head checks and proper treatment rather than excessive home cleaning
Our technicians provide clear post-treatment guidance so families know exactly what does and does not need to be done—helping prevent unnecessary stress or over-cleaning.
